    Not as robust as I'd hoped

    I had to return my initial UK 8.5 size purchase (my usual size), for a UK9.5 size because the ankle fit was too tight and so now, I have a slightly too long shoe. The shoe is great once on, but very difficult to get on - so much so that the ring pull on the tongue of the right shoe has torn away, requiring repair. That was disappointing on a new shoe.

    Not what I was hoping for

    Generally, quite comfortable, a couple of issues however: 1) Very tight ankle fit: I purchased and then returned what is my usual 8.5UK sizing. Length was good, but they were incredibly tight in the ankle and very hard to get on. I returned the 8.5UK for a 9.5 UK. Still tightish in the ankle and not easy to get on, but now I have too much space in the toe. 2) Shoelace diagram card The diagram card that came in the box for how to conceal the shoelace extension after tightening does not appear to be compatible with my shoe.

    No breaking in needed.

    Bought these for the KNOCK OUT rave. They arrived the day before so I didn’t have time to break them in. However, first time wearing them at the rave (where I was on my feet for a good and solid 6 hrs), they held up so well. Super comfortable, no blisters the next day. What more can I say? Best purchase of 2023, me thinks.

    Good shoe but tight

    Bought online from Salomon during a discount promotion as I was after an all black shoe for walking around in. I've bought quite a few pairs of Salomon hiking shoes in the past ,all UK 8.5 , perfect fit. The problem is the elasticated collar , had to use a shoe horn for the first time ever , only managed to keep them on for 10 minutes before I lost the blood supply to my feet ! Anyway I've persevered and they have stretched a bit and I'm wearing thinner socks for now. Looking down at them on my feet they do look a fair bit narrower than my other Salomons including a pair of XT Wings 2. All in all though they're a solid well made shoe, lugs are great ,good grip.I think the description of "step in comfort " is a bit of a misnomer in this case, unless you don't mind waiting !

    3. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper with your foot perpendicular to the wall and your heel against the wall.
    4. Then use a pen to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat for both feet and take the longer distance to determine your size.
    5. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew to find your size.
