    So far so good

    I must be honest, I’ve been a sense ride guy since the beginning. So much so that I have recently reinstated some sense ride 2s from garden duty back in to my running quiver. Needless to say I am, or I was a proud member of the sense ride supporters club. That was until the 5s came into rotation and I was unable (not through lack of trying) able to find comfort or joy in. So this is how we arrived here reviewing the Ultra Glide 2. Firstly, it fits true. That is assuming that I have any idea what fitting true actually means. The US11 is what I tend to buy and in this case it fits like I would hope. I chose the fancy white, yellow & red combination for the glide. Initially I thought that was possibly the worst pallette imaginable for a trail shoe, but after further consideration, I decided that almost all trail shoes look awful after a handful of bush bashing runs so why not treat my eyes to a colour combination that would keep the road runners happy. I must be upfront and let you know that I have only ran about 50 clicks over 3 runs in these bad boys thus far but it’s fair to say that my initial thoughts are that they are built for comfort over long days and dare I say not speed. Take that as you will knowing that I am a middle of the packer at best. In fact, there really isn’t a shoe on the market that I would consider for speed when it’s my getaway sticks moving them. As for all the other things that make the shoe. They are what you would expect from a Salomon shoe. Nice grip, nice build and nice fancy shoe lace tying and hiding pouch system. Like the title says, so far so good. I would like to put them through their paces on a longy though. I do however, suspect they will return the victors once compared to the graveyard of sense rides in my shed. Do yourself a favour and give them a crack as your next all day shoe.

    2. Make sure you are wearing the same socks that you would normally wear with this type of shoe
    3. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper with your foot perpendicular to the wall and your heel against the wall.
    4. Then use a pen to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat for both feet and take the longer distance to determine your size.
    5. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew to find your size.
